What is Positive Minds.

Positive Minds is a consortium of VCS (Voluntary & Community Sector) and statutory services working to support older people and the agencies and organisations that work with them. Collectively we have strong community links and access to older people within different communities; inclusion and diversity is a strong motivating factor within all areas of our work.   As a consortium, we co-develop and co-deliver collaborative projects; the most appropriate organisation taking the lead. We take an asset-based approach leading to cost effective project development and the pooling and sharing of resources.

Positive Minds enables organisations to recognise the impact of poor mental health and to signpost older people to support services and social groups.  We aim to empower older people to build resilience by developing prevention work project and promoting self-care.

What we do at Positive Minds
  • Organise training, awareness and networking events
  • Use technology and social media to connect older people and older people’s services
  • Signpost older people and organisations to sources of support and social groups
  • Collaborate with older people to deliver campaigns that are key to their thoughts needs and wishes

We don’t deliver mental health services but we do occasionally publish resources that you might find interesting and helpful.  This website has links to various local and national support organisations which we hope are helpful; if your support organisation isn't listed, please let us know.

Positive Minds is a partnership
